Win one of three PSoC 3 development boards
Win one of three PSoC 3 development boards Cypress and Future Electronics jointly developed the low-cost PSoC 3 Development Board, a package showcasing the ease-of-use of Cypress's new PSoC 3 architecture.
The Future Electronics PSoC 3 development board includes a on-board debug/programmer, a CapSense touch pad interface, tricolor red/green/blue LEDs, and a user USB interface. The board is powered though USB ports and two connectors are available for I/Os and expansion boards. These connectors enable the board to work with a growing ecosystem of solution-based expansion kits that Cypress is developing, including segment LCD, CAN and more. Future will also be developing an expansion board for the new Sharp Pixel in Memory LCD with power consumption 130 times lower than standard LCDs of comparable size.

About PSoC 3 and PSoC 5
The new PSoC 3 and PSoC 5 architectures include high-precision programmable analog capability (up to 20-bit resolution for an Analog to Digital Converter) and expanded programmable digital resources integrated with powerful, industry-standard MCU cores and ample memory and communications peripherals. The PSoC 3 devices are based on a new, high-performance 8-bit 8051 processor, while the PSoC 5 devices include a powerful 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 processor. The new products provide designers with a seamless, programmable design platform, enabling easy migration from 8 to 32 bits. The robust features of these new solutions dramatically expand the applications and markets that PSoC can address, including automotive, portable medical, industrial and many more.

The companies also announced that interested parties can request free onsite introductory demonstrations of the new development board or half-day, hands-on workshops by visiting www.cypress.com/go/FEtraining.
The free onsite demonstration introduces the PSoC 3 and PSoC 5 architectures and features, shows applications development using PSoC Creator software and the Future Electronics PSoC 3 Development Board, and includes a short lab.
The free half-day workshop gives participants hands-on experience using and developing PSoC 3 applications through the PSoC Creator IDE and the CY8CKIT-001 PSoC Development Kit. Attendees will learn how to easily implement high-performance, low-power 8-bit or 32-bit mixed-signal applications with an architecture integrating powerful and programmable analog and digital resources.
